Representatives of the Communications Administration of Belarus will take part in the 27th UPU Congress in an online format Representatives of the Communications Administration of Belarus will take part in the online format of the 27th Congress of the Universal Postal Union, which will be held from 9 to 27 August 2021 in the Republic of Ivory Coast in Abidjan. Congress is the supreme body of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and meets every four years. The plenipotentiaries of the 192 UPU member countries are meeting to determine the future of the postal sector. Telecommunication development indicators for the first half of 2021 In the first half of 2021, the development of the information and communication infrastructure of the Republic of Belarus continued. As of July 1, 2021, telecommunication services had been provided by 190 telecommunication operators. As a result of the implementation of measures for the construction and modernization of telecommunication networks, the following results had been achieved: The number of fixed broadband Internet subscribers had made up 3.273 million. There have been issued two postage stamps of the series “Machine-building of Belarus” On May 27, 2021, the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus issued into circulation two stamps from the series "Machine-building of Belarus". The project was prepared in cooperation with the OJSC “Minsk Tractor Plant” and the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents. Photographs by Anatoly GORELCHIK, Vladimir LUPEIKO were used. ITU Workshop “5G (IMT-2020) networks launch and operation experience” (Minsk, Belarus, 2-4 June 2021) The Workshop is addressed to representatives of ministries, regulators, municipalities, telecom operators, universities and general education institutions, telecommunication equipment manufacturers, research and development institutes, software developers and other interested stakeholders. The achieved level of telecommunication development in Belarus creates conditions for the further digitization of the country and the provision of e-services in the whole territory of the republic The achieved level of telecommunication development in the Republic of Belarus allows almost to fully satisfy the growing information needs of citizens, businesses and the state, creates conditions for the further digitization of the country and the provision of electronic services throughout the republic. Today, 188 operators provide telecommunication services in the country. In 2019, work was completed to bring a fibre-optic communication line to each apartment of the urban multi-apartment building.
