Minister Took Part in the Partner2Connect Meeting

Today, on September 21, the Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus Konstantin Shulgan took part in the Partner2Connect Meeting, which was held as a side event of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

As a result of the Meeting, it was announced the launch of the Partner2Connect Digital Coalition, created to foster the implementation of projects in various countries of the world in order to develop telecommunications infrastructure and digital transformation.

The 27th Congress of the Universal Postal Union continues its work

The 27th Congress of the Universal Postal Union, in which delegates from member countries as well as observers from international and regional organizations participate, continue its work.

The Belarusian delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatization, Ms Natalya Gordeeenko, joined the UPU Congress by in-person representation.

Digital data – is an asset, with high capabilities and economy impact level that is on par with natural resources. Development of computers, mobile devices and information technologies led to the numerous increase of communication speed, decision making, transaction processing and other operations.  

Representatives of the Communications Administration of Belarus will take part in the 27th UPU Congress in an online format

Representatives of the Communications Administration of Belarus will take part in the online format of the 27th Congress of the Universal Postal Union, which will be held from 9 to 27 August 2021 in the Republic of Ivory Coast in Abidjan. Congress is the supreme body of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and meets every four years. The plenipotentiaries of the 192 UPU member countries are meeting to determine the future of the postal sector.

Telecommunication development indicators for the first half of 2021

In the first half of 2021, the development of the information and communication infrastructure of the Republic of Belarus continued.

As of July 1, 2021, telecommunication services had been provided by 190 telecommunication operators.

As a result of the implementation of measures for the construction and modernization of telecommunication networks, the following results had been achieved:

The number of fixed broadband Internet subscribers had made up 3.273 million.

The number of IP TV subscribers had made up 2.34 million.

ITU Global Event “Emerging Technologies for Connections by 2021” is taking place

The global event of the International Telecommunication Union "New Technologies for Connections by 2021" takes place from 5 to 16 July.

The overall goal of the event is to contribute to the large-scale introduction of the latest technologies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Today, on June 30, representatives of the Communications Administration of the Republic of Belarus will take part in the online format in the work of the Extraordinary Session of the Administrative Council of the Universal Postal Union. During the work of the Extraordinary Session, information will be provided on the preparations for the 27th Congress to be held in August 2021 in Côte d'Ivoire.
