The 27th Congress of the Universal Postal Union continues its work

The 27th Congress of the Universal Postal Union, in which delegates from member countries as well as observers from international and regional organizations participate, continue its work.

The Belarusian delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Communications and Informatization, Ms Natalya Gordeeenko, joined the UPU Congress by in-person representation.

From 23 to 27 August 2021, the delegation will participate in Plenary meetings, during which the election of the Director General / Deputy Director General of the Universal Postal Union will take place by secret ballot, as well as the signing of the UPU Acts.

During the Congress, UPU member countries are expected to adopt a new Universal Postal Strategy, a road map for the new work cycle starting in 2022. The Congress will also decide on new rules and establish a policy on the international exchange of mail.
